I just started talking to a girl who is 20, I’m 31. I made my intentions very clear and she apparently sees eye-to-eye. I just don’t know if I could actually go through with it. Like how do you introduce yourself to her family and friends?

Anyone ever been in a similar situation? Did it work out?

I definitely plan on giving it a shot, I’m just hoping I’m not wasting my time.

It is a person to person basis. She could be more mature than some 28 year olds.

I don't see any reason to discount someone just because of a number. If she's a stupid arse 20 then don't waste your time, but every person develops at a different rate.

Now, If She Starts trying to get you to snapchat every five minutes then forget it

That’s one of the big things that has me tripping out... say we go out to a restaurant or bar or whatever and I buy her a drink, I just supplied alcohol to a minor or something along those lines.

When you’re 51 and she’s 40, it won’t seem like such a big deal.

If she makes you happy and you make her happy, then congrats to you both.

Got a family member who married an older guy. I think they have a 15 year difference or so (30 and 45 IIRC). Enough age difference that he already had adult kids from a prior marriage, and she just gave birth to their first. They seem happy. I'm sure it helps that (1) she's attractive and (2) he's loaded.

It WAS kind of awkward when he was being introduced to the family. But, at that point, they were obviously grown, consenting adults.

Twenty is still a little on the young side, but at least she'll have someone to procure alcohol for her.

Again, go to GABC on Sunday and nobody will care.

I always thought the divide your age by half and add 7 rule was something I’d abide by, but now that I’m actually in this situation I can’t just pass it up. And yea, I can procure the alcohol for a whole 4 months until she turns 21.

Sure, it’s a subtle brag; but I’m legitimately looking for advice on this one. I’m losing sleep over it.
