Go mcmasters website find what you need and post it here.

I'm confused as to what your calling a 1.5" crows foot.

Those four bolts holding the knives need to be torqued to 250 ft-lbs. the middle hole will have a shaft going through it with about 3-4" of overhang bc there's a bearing securing the top of it. That nut is 1.5" and needs to be torqued to 200 ft-lbs and is the only one I need a crows foot for.

ETA: we only have two knife stacks on ours (custom made) so only two outer bolts

This. Because it sure isn't going to last more than once coming from there. But their selection of crap is huge. If not them, try Grainger.

Nonsense. For most stuff the HF works just fine.

I have damn near every kind of tool you can think of from Snap On, MAC & Ingersoll Rand down to HF.

I broke a $5 HF 3 jaw puller once and a 10 year old grinder went out, but hey so did my Bosch.

A crow's foot and torque wrench... go for it.

How are you holding that thing in place while you you torque the nuts?

Adding a bunch of razor sharpe knife blades into mix adds an extra element of danger

It came with a set up stand that you secure in a vise while you're torquing it down

If you can stand on a cheater bar. Torque = force x distance. Divide 250(torque) by your body weigh(lbs) x 12(inches)= how many inches to stand on the cheater bar supporting you full weight to get you close to the torque value.

Example: 250/170(my weight) x 12 = 17.6 inches

I like the way you think sir. If the tolerances on the torque values weren't strict I'd be down with that.

What size is your crows foot wrench? A torque wrench that will measure that high a value is most likely going to be a 3/4 inch drive.

I don't mean to be an arse but are you sure that thing requires that much freaking torque? That is lot of torque! Based on your picture if the center shaft nut is 1.5" then I am guessing the center shaft it threads on is at most 1" diameter. Based on that the other bolts should be around 1/4 or maybe 3/8 inch diameter maybe? Even with a grade 8 bolt you don't get above a maximum torque of 250 lb until the shaft diameter is greater than 5/8" with thread pitch of 18.

torque chart by shaft size and Grade

Also here is a discussion on the change in torque when using a crows foot.

Those outer bolts are 1.125" in diameter. The torque values are straight from the manufacturer. Thanks for the link though I'll read through it
