My dad didn't believe in ghosts (although he did, kind of believe in UFOs - and he was in the Air Force in the late 1950s) or supernatural shite, but he believed in the Crossett Arkansas thing. Said he experienced it twice in his 20s.

Probably similar to the Paulding light in Michigan which was recently explained as headlights from a distant highway being reflected/bent under certain atmospheric conditions.

Something like this or lumenescent swamp gas, maybe. I think people go to this spot and see it because it's accessible. It then feeds on itself as people are successful in experiencing the phenomenon at the same spot over and over.

Ain't no headlights out where this thing is. It's in the middle of a pine thicket on a gravel road. And it moves around. We got drunk and chased it up and down that road till the wee hours of the morning on time. Then of course ran into a ditch and got stuck, vomited and stuff. Good times.

Many speculate that it's swamp gas. Headlights can do funny things at night. Heck, you've probably seen a mirage of water on the road on a bright day on a long interstate drive.

So, without having seen it myself, I can tell you without reservation it is 1000s of times more likely to be a trick of the light, swamp gas, what have you, than it is a ghost. But, you believe whatever you want to believe, baw.

It's not a ghost. It's methane gas. It's still neat to see

You think someone who spends the gas and energy and time to go out there is going to be able to explain it in detail that you can debunk it?

Chill dude I'm not saying it's not some sort of gas I'm just saying it's not headlights. There's not a major road close enough for it to be headlights.

There is a road in Hamburg also you can drive down and see the light. Seen it there 3 different times. We loved scaring the shite out of the girls we took up there. There was an old rundown church on the way and it was part of our story to freak people out. Man, I miss high school.
