Crazy or not crazy? I talk out loud to my dog, walking her around the neighborhood.

Do you neighbors that witnesses this think I’m crazy? Or see this as normal behavior?

I catch myself doing this all the time. I wonder what my neighbors hear on their ring cameras.

People talk to their dogs all the time…

Just as long as you don’t think they’re talking back..

That would be some serious David Berkowitz shite there.

As in conversation or commands?

Commands, ok..

Telling your dog a story about work, batshit crazy!

It's when they talk back to you that you cross the crazy line

I do this all the time, but if I saw someone else doing it, I would probably think they're weird.

If you have a GSD or a Border Collie, they probably understand you.

I like to take mine for runs. He likes it too but a lot of times that first mile he kind of lags behind. I usually end up calling him a bunch of names and making him feel like a pussy until he picks up the pace. Every once in a while I'll look up and someone will be standing in their driveway staring at me.

I do the same thing. It's all in a pleasant tone of voice so she doesn't know I'm calling her a lazy count.

Is your dog named Jake? If so we might be neighbors.

Not crazy. Talk to my dogs all the time, lots of commands on their walks. Love the GS head tilt when he probably really does wonder wth did I say.

To think that dogs do not respond to tone/tenor and even lots of key words is plainly dumb. Talk to your best friend. They're crazy if they think it's weird.

Average dog can learn 80-90 words/phrases. Highly intelligent dogs can go over 200. Add to it that they can anticipate and react to what is being said and the tone being used in a fraction of a second. Yeah, our dogs understand way more than people want to believe. Nothing like watching your GSD figure out how to unlock and open doors.
