Craps is really the only thing I enjoy playing at the casino. A hot table is easily the most exciting atmosphere in the place. A good mixture of random low lives and high rolling OT Ballers usually makes for solid entertainment even when the table is cold.

Anyway, a lot of the time I play only the Don't Pass sometimes laying odds. Money seems to last the longest playing this way.

If I'm trying to really go for it, I'll play the Pass and DP at the same time for the minimum. Then get a hefty Don't Come bet on the board. Place all the numbers for the minimum except the point and the DC number. Take odds on the point. Put up a minimum Come Bet with every roll. Use winning place bets to take odds on the come bets.

What are your strategies?

I always play pass line with odds. The drunker I get, I venture out to the numbers 6 and 8

I'll play the Pass

Start with 6 & 8, and I'm usually on the 4,5, 9 & 10 pretty quickly if the roll continues more than 2 or 3 throws.

Money just goes so damn quick if you don't have some kind of hedge.

Play the pass line initially while getting a feel for the table. Then Pass Line with odds, and start with 5 & 9. Going from there I'll open up to the numbers and then throwing money at the hard ways.

All Tall & Small every time fo sho.

$5 pass line, $10 odds, $6 on 6 & 8 to start every roll.

Venture out to 4, 5, 9, 10 once I recoup $10-15. Start to play hard way once I recoup $20-25.

I break even most times, win sometimes, lose big other times, but this method allows me to play the longest.

Bold strategy, sir.

If it's a hot roller that I've seen throw before, I will usually bet come bets and odds on the last come bet. Actually played for the first time in a while this weekend and after about 6 throws I had every number covered. After that it's just hoping he doesn't hit a 7, and just keep collecting money.

They also had a Hot Roller bet (which I had never seen before) and I won about $75 betting that several times.

If I'm just walking up to the table, then I will just bet Pass Line and odds, and then I'll start with 6&8 after the first point, then 5&9.

My girlfriends uncle and cousin buy the 4 or 10 every time the point is on the opposite (buys the 4 when the point is on the 10, and vice versa). Little rich for my blood, but they made good money doing it this past weekend.

If you aren't always laying big odds on the P/DP, then you are missing probably the best bet in the casino

Shreveport's El Dorado has a table that pays 2's and 12's quite handsomely (12 to 1 I think).

Once you recoup some of your money off the table during someone's roll, slipping $5 out there on the ends is nice when it hits and pays $60.

I strictly play the donts. I bet $100 on the the don't pass, then following the point, I will play the odds behind the don't pass. I also play $100 on the don't come after the point has been established. Once that bet moves to a number I play the odds behind it. Then I just sit there and wait for the "7". If the point is hit and I lose my bet, I don't chase, I just wait until the roll ends then start over with the next shooter. The casino is built because it wins. This is the only way I have found to be able to play with the house.

Example:
$100 on Don't Pass.
Shooter rolls a 4. Now I lay $200 odds behind my don't pass
$100 on Don't Come.
Shooter rolls a 9. Now I lay $180 odds behind my don't come.
Sit and wait for the shooter to roll a 7.
While waiting I talk about John Elway, Dinner reservations at 7, the 7 pt I didn't shoot last year, or the 7 lb bass that got away. And occasionally bet a $6 two way yo, just to try to get that 7 out!

I like how everyone's strategy changes depending on how the table is going

If only the dice knew that

FIFY

Just like every table.

ETA: This is for the field.

You may be talking about the place bets, where you're betting a 2 or 12 to hit before a 7 (pays 11-2).

I thought most tables stop at 3 & 11... but I'm no world traveling craps player. As to the odds, I'm not sure but 2 to 1 seems low for 1 combination numbers.

I generally play pass, 6 & 8. If you are playing the numbers 5 & 9 before playing 6 & 8, then you are doing it wrong. If I'm playing really conservative, I'll play don't pass but place the 6,8 just in case a shooter has a good roll.

I bet the pass line with odds. No point in betting the pass line if you are not going to back it up and get odds. Then I bet 6 and 8 along with the "sister" number. So if the point is 5 I also bet 9 or if the point is 4 I also bet the 10. Press until I have all numbers covered. By that point I am hoping to get paid every time they throw the dice. of course that doesn't always happen. It is not fun to me to bet the Don't Pass. Also, if you see me bet a hard way then turn your bets OFF because a 7 is coming. For some reason I hit the Yo quite often though.

Play the don't.

Collect winnings when the shooters sevens out.

Enjoy the mean mugs I get.

I'll just bet $5 C&E

I saw a lot of people betting your strategy this weekend. I found it better to bet come, it may take a little longer to fill each number, but I also got money back when the roller would crap out, which doesn't happen when betting the numbers straight up.

And you can buy odds to protect your come bets when the button is off.

This is poor strategy.

By playing the don't pass, you are getting the chance to bet the odds. You should maximize them if your bankroll permits, which sounds like it does. If you want to play 200 odds, you should bet less on the don't pass line, like 10 bucks. That 10 bucks has shittier margin than the 200 so why bet that extra 90
