It was always Berenstein. Whenever I type Berenstein my phone tries to autocorrect Berenstain! Goddamn Matrix!

i have 5 or 6 berenstein bear books at home from the 1960s. i'm going to take a pic of them tonight & post it because i have no idea which spelling is right.

I always pronounced it as "bern-steen". Never really knew how it was spelled.

As the narrator in the video stated, I can pretty vividly remember being corrected when I thought it was pronounced "bern-stain."

They will say "stain". I guarantee it. I checked it myself with some books from the early '80s that my mom had in the attic. Here's the very thing though - of course they will say "stain" in this universe. In this universe, they have always said "stain". That's the whole thing. Back where we came from they said "stein".
