My parents live in Port Allen and they tell me Cox has outages in their area multiple times per week.

Good for you. I wish they had Eatel up here in Baton Rouge. Great company.

Same here, started with COX when I first moved out to Ascension and had to call them with problems at least once every two weeks. Switched to EATEL and I can't tell you the last time I had to call for a problem. Also, with EATEL, you can still have cable when the power goes out because of the fiber optic. Just hook up the TV and cable box to generator and you're good. Made life much better during Gustav.

Working from home today and Eatel has been working like a champ. No issues since I switched.

All I can say is Eatel is bad in my area. Great customer service though. Examples: that box on the outside constantly burns out, fiber switch has went out more than once, have pixelaltion periods at least once a month (missed football games because of black screen, high db loss), our channel 1 service is always out. Caller ID function is out and they can't figure out why. Everytime something goes out they wanna come in my house and tear behind every TV, but the problem is ON THE INCOMING line because it's the whole damn house signal...DUH . Then I tell them NO need to come over, look, ping me, find the problem and fix it. They always call back "we found something on our end" we appologize. The positive is they do want to make it right and work to fix it. Great customer support, in that regard. One month we had like 7 movie charges for movies I've never even heard of while our channel 1 was down! and they claim we watched them (no refund). We've never bought a movie and never plan to. So I was out $50. Was pissed!
