Does it piss you off when couples constantly whisper to one another when they are in a group setting? This occurred tonight when having a work happy hour. Whether you're displeased, arguing, fighting, dirty talk, making fun of others...whatever!

It's rude to the others and annoying.

They were talking about how shitty of a person you are.

Seriously. We've got a table of 9 or 10 people and this one couple constantly whispered into the other's ear. People were kind of getting fidgety and uneasy. It was just awkward. Of course, they were younger and probably only capable of communicating to a group via emoji, text, or snap chat instead of having a meaningful or thoughtful discussion.

Sounds like they are swingers and just talking about how much they want to bang everybody in the room.

They're young. Early to mid 30's. We're all in our upper 50's. Sucks for them.

Or a classic Curb Your Enthusiasm episode.

It just means they are sharing information they don't want shared with the rest of the class. You have two choices: either call them out on it and explain to them why you think this sort of behavior is disrespectful or just ignore it and not turn into a little bitch over something so inconsequential and petty. Whining about it to strangers on the internet behind those couples' backs isn't solving anything.

Yea, thats how it makes me feel. Especially when its just the three of us or me and my gf and them.

Example of a recent scenario:

Me, my gf, my sister and her bf all hanging out at my sisters apt. My gf and I came into town for the weekend and we are making plans for the next day. I say something about what I want to do, my sister turns to her bf and they start communicating in low voices/whispers discussing what they want to do/if they want to do whatever I said with my and my gf.

And Im just sitting there like... am I supposed to be bothering to listen to this? I cant really hear and dont really feel like putting forth the effort if youre gonna whisper to each other about it. Its just weird how they do that in the middle of a group discussion. They are pretty quiet people in general and my gf and I are not when we are around friends/family, so idk. I just dont get it.

I never notice this, but it can't be as bad as couples who air all their shite out loud in front of people.

If this were my relative/close friend I would loudly say, "WTF is going on?!" If you have something to say that no one can hear you do what everyone else does...go somewhere else, or wait till they leave the room. You gonna whisper in front of me, and I'm gonna get loud in front of you
