You have to be above average intelligence with great memory to pull it off. I doubt the average person can "learn" it.

Splitting 7's is the best play statistically when dealer is showing a 2-7.

Oh absolutely I agree.

But requesting when the next deck begins in the shoe is one of those cool little quiet secrets that the player has a right to but the casino would never tell you.

Word is requesting this immediately gets you looked at funny.

A 7 isn't a bust card...All you're going to do is keep the dealer from busting and lose your money. Statistically speaking, how many people are at the table in your scenario?

Most casinos are loading the shoe with 6+ decks. It just doesn't work after you put enough decks of cards in the show.

Sorry, it effects the chances.

The sooner you realize you haven't come up with some great scheme the casino hasn't thought of the better off you'll be. The dealer as simple rules they follow and that's all they need to beat you.

This.

You should always play your own hand in the way that yields you the highest chance of winning, like in the chart posted above.

Sometimes idiots play stupid and it costs the table, but they are just as likely to help you out by doing so.

Splitting 7's against a 7 is VERY close to 50-50 win chance. Against 2-6 it is significantly better odds than standing with a 14

The combinations available with 6 decks in a shoe is astronomically high.

I've never really looked into it, I've seen that silly MIT movie..is it along the same lines? But you have to pay attention to # of cards dealt in total and # of specific cards to know where you stand in a multi-deck shoe?

Your gained edge vs playing basic strategy isnt enough to invest your time in card counting. If you like to play Black Jack play basic strategy, and pay enough attention to the cards to reasonably guess whether the deck is rich or poor, and adjust your bet when you feel like the deck is rich.

No matter what you do the math works out in the dealers favor.

And it won't do anything statistically to hinder one's card-counting strategy, fantasy or otherwise.

Jesus Christ. Face cards count as -1. Cards 2 through 6 count as +1. 7's, 8's, and 9's are neutral. you literally add and subtract the number 1 as the cards come out.

So to recap. If you can add and subtract by the number 1 while also identifying what a playing card looks like, you can count cards.

Check the blackjack forums. It can be done but you will need a big bank roll to make any money. The average is 2-3 units profit per hour. It's a grind from what I've read but no where near impossible.
