You think the women's lib writer of this story gives a flying frick about football? I seriously doubt it.
My comment was directed at posters here, not the author. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

The BuzzFeed story blames Alabama's "archaic" rape statutes, but the Alabama statutes are similar to those of many other states. The fact of the matter is, it's hard to find the evidence to prove there was no consent. This is a problem throughout the country
So basically you have to have a black eye or busted lip to have a rape case. No busted lip of black eye? Get the hell outa here with that foolishness young lady.

I take that as none. What, exactly, attracted you to this case?

Wait. I thought the OT believed that the mere accusation of rape was not sufficient to punish someone. Has that changed? Surely you're not in favor of throwing someone under the bus because you don't like the hat he wears on Saturday?

Are you insinuating that I only care about rapes that have ties to rich boosters that help pay for head football coach's 3.1 million dollar mansions and million dollar practice facilites of The University of Alabama? Well I do declare.

And it IS amazing the influence a college football team has on the mind of a person to the point that they will disregard human decency for the love of the tide.
Agreed.
In a lot of ways, this is far worse than the Baylor story.

That's exactly what I'm insinuating and it's pathetic. Tell me why it isn't.

Are you saying the OT has a rape culture problem? Is everyone on the OT a rape sympathizer like The University of Alabama?

Not surprised the bama posters would come here and try to flip the script.
Says a lot.
Says all you need to know.

You're saying that. Try to keep up. I'm not the one trying to convict the guy. If he's guilty, let him hang. You seem to believe that he's already guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

I'm not sure which is worse, but it is a stretch, at this point, to even compare the two situations.
This is a truly fricked up story, and sadly, it is not surprising.

Ezekiel 25:17 that's why
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

You're right. I cant think of one victim in Waco that is dead now.

From the social worker on up the chain of command, this young lady's blood is on all their hands.
I wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror.

Nononononon
I never played judge and jury like the local Tuscaloosa PD. I'm just posting an article on a story about rape turned suicide and how it has similarities to another now famous case. The fact that it involves Bama is circumstantial.

Do you seriously not see the parallel between yourself and the same people that accused the UVA frat and the Duke Lacrosse team, armed with nothing but accusations? You literally hope this girl was raped. Your entire argument depends on it.

You have to have some sort of evidence that there was no consent, be it bruises, witnesses, forensic evidence, etc. Finding evidence that is good enough to do that is very difficult, as no one is usually around to see it, and often overpowering someone doesn't require using force that will cause bruising or other marks.
For prosecutors, it's not that they think that it's foolishness. Heck, they may even believe the girl, but without the evidence they simply can't take the case to trial.
This goes for many cases, so I am not referring to this specific case alone.
