Getting wood is just a euphemism for being excited.

I echo your point that the recruiting board guys are creepy AF...fawning over shirtless pics of 9th grader Dylan Moses and talking about his body pretty much breaks the creepy scale.

why do you get wood over politics?

Probably goes back to the Anthony Weiner scandal

Very

Gets even odder when they start talking about masturbating to their potential commitment to play football at a college.

Fans excited about the future is odd? The future as soon as the very next year in most cases with the really good players..

People like you who are judging it from some sick sexual way are the odd ones. Good for you that you don't get excited about young players who commit to the university..

Any ways, yeah it's just a metaphor.. (not one I would use) even though the OP is just messing around..

Haven't read all the replies, so...sorry if this has been posted.

Sports are the modern day equivalent to clashes between clans, regional kingdoms, villages, etc....

Back in the day more barbaric warriors, like the Vikings for example, would go to into battle with giant boners to intimidate the enemy.

It's where the phrase "bloodlust" came from.

So now, we get sport's boners instead.

Adults who are into HS football in general are creepy AF (excluding people with family on the team).

I deploy this tactic at sales presentations. Very effective.
