Patriarchy=Bad

Right?

We need to get rid of the evil patriarchy that's oppressing all these women, people of color and other sundry minorities, keeping these special little snowflakes from reaching new heights.

It's systemic.

We don't even know we are part of the patriarchy. It's inescapable.

The rise of the matriarchy is the only thing that could take its place, but that hasn't gone so well in the past.

The closest thing we have to a matriarchal society in the US is the Black American culture. Things aren't going so great for them.

There have also been several studies (some of questionable methods) that seem to demonstrate that women are horrible leaders, have trouble working together and cannot set aside personal differences and work together as easily as men.

SO, can a matriarchal society succeed? Are there any in history or present day? How are they doing.

ETA: Blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-ambien.

If you go strictly by the definition I suppose it could.

matriarchy

noun

a family, society, community, or state governed by women.

I have no problem with that definition. WOULD IT SUCCEED?

Why wouldn't a matriarchy succeed? And where on earth are these "studies" that demonstrate women to be horrible leaders? Ever heard of Angela Merkel? She's considered by many to be one of the greatest leaders of the 21st century.

There's some Eastern societies that operate as matriarchies actually. Women lead the family and men tend to wander between groups led by different women

It's been in the works since the Sixties. Ask a certain American demographic how it's working out for them.

If women were sexually indiscriminate, a matriarchy could bring world peace.

Addressed in OP.

I often hear how things would be better if a woman was in charge. They've truly bought it the hype spawned by decades of sitcoms.

I just don't see it.

Any archy or ocracy that doesn't have "merit" in it, or at least an aspect of it, is fundamentally flawed.

A socialist matriarchy is what the hard left wants. In my experience, women tend to micromanage things and don't work very efficiently. They're also terrible at handling stress.

But I don't think a matriarchy is really possible, on every level. Sure, you could have a woman president or CEO, but I just think that, biologically, men have more dominant, aggressive personalities and would always have a great influence on a society. Any attempt to "tame" us and make us more sheepish and sensitive would simply result in us being overrun by societies that don't pussify men - like muslims. Ask Angela Merkel how that's working out for her.

A matriarchy in a non-western culture might work.

Maybe...or crimes of passion would increase exponentially.
