My boring arse traffic story:
Work near Vets/Cleary. Live near Jefferson/Central (by Haydel's).
-Going down Cleary was no worse than usual, but once I hit West Metry where I usually make a right turn, traffic was backed up bumper to bumper. It would have taken me a few traffic light cycles to even turn on to West Metry.
-Went straight down Cleary to check and see if I could make a right on Airline, and it was even worse (shocking).
-Ended up saying frick it, River Road is probably my best bet to go ~10 blocks West, so went straight from Cleary onto Earhart. Traffic was iffy around Club Gemini, but not terrible. Made the first U-turn I could and went back down Earhart so I could hit up the Deckbar exit. Sucks that you can't get off on Deckbar Eastbown on Earhart, but whatever.
-Got to Jefferson and it was as bad as West Metry/Airline. Went past it to River Road and it was smooth sailing to Central. On a bad day it takes me 20 minutes to get home from work. Today it took 45 minutes, and it would have been worse if I tried to make a right on any of those East/West streets.

Suspect is now dead...succumb to his self inflicted gunshot wound. The slain Westwego Police Officer was my younger cousin and was an UNBELIEVABLE human being. Myself and his older brother are also Law Enforcement professionals employed by surrounding agencies. A very gray day for our family...professional and personal.
