Not nearly as bad as that fat frick in Prairieville that accidentally shot and killed some kid in the parking lot of a bar a few years ago. He didn't get charges either.

Shoots suspect trying to get out and then tells dispatch "I have one unresponsive and a male that refuses to come out' that made me laugh.

I'm not sure how that was at all accidental. This is one case where I hope the guy who was shot lawyers up.

In a couple of countries, it is.

How can you pay for all the informative courses if you're dead?

The best part is how the cop didn't mention he shot anyone until after evidence was found.

Why would this cop's sworn testimony be trusted in other cases?

Hopefully the citizens in that area will have some discussions with the DA about his judgment.

How does this not fall under reckless endangerment or something like that?

Reckless endangerment ?? It's fricking attempted murder. If my neighbor accidentally puts his car in the ditch and I walk up and shoot him in the throat they are sending me to Angola.

Suspect refuses to get out?

Searches with flashlight back and forth for casing...

Nice "accident".

I don't disagree. What I'm saying is: trying to look at this in the best possible light (for the police officer), how is it not under the umbrella of something like reckless endangerment?

You can find examples of people that have done far less, on accident, and faced far worse from a DA.

It just looks more and more like a badge is a 'get out of jail free' card.

At the very least, it should go to a Grand Jury.

Shut the frick up. That cop didn't know that girl was gone when he fired his weapon.

Dude spent 5 minutes looking for the shell casing and didn't mention anything. I bet he thought he missed the guy and wasn't going to say anything.

Cops shouldn't be drawing their guns because they feel the perp is about to flee.
