No link. But my Info comes from a contact I have at the city permits office and the huge arse blue and white sign on site that says something like "future urban development by federal government" or something like that.

Are you fricking shitting me?!
That is one of the most booming areas in the Baton Rouge Metro. They are finally starting to close the gap between Industriplex and Highland along Airline and now they are going to just take a giant shite on the property value of that stretch?

That's exactly what I thought when I drove by there yesterday.
I noticed the general design of the buildings seemed akin to a potential apartment complex. So I thought to myself, "Well, that seems like a shitty location for an apartment, but maybe they'll be luxury condos or something that will further the value of the area."
Nope.
I should have known that nothing too good from a development standpoint can be:
A) In close proximity to a Wal-Mart
B) Across the road from run-down lots exclusively owned to operate shitty firework stands just a few weeks out of the year
C) Within a half-mile of a current strip club and a former strip club

To be fair, the Section 8 housing in the Lower Garden District and Central City down in New Orleans looks nicer than the majority of neighborhoods I have lived in during my life.
It's the damnedest thing too. My girlfriend and I were walking along a couple of roads perpendicular to Magazine and I was commenting about how nice some of the recently built homes appeared to be. You could tell they were erected after Katrina. It was almost like a "Leave it to Beaver" environment.
And then I noticed a number of hoodlums and not a single white person in sight. It was one of those a-ha moments.

Of course they are going to tell you they are upscale. imagine the public outcry if they came out day one and said "hey we plan on building low rent government subsidized housing in your part of town". I'm sure they will be nice as far as apartments go for the first week or so.

That's what I heard also. There goes my property value.

Unfortunately, most tax credit and section 8 housing is surprisingly upscale. At least, until the tenants ruin it.

They're calling this a PUD development which means an HOA. I don't know how this will affect the quality. But it is mostly a single family units. we can all thank Matt McKay (all star family) and John Noland.

The Muses isn't Section 8 its Market Rate with Affordable Rate mixed in it is NOT Section 8. Section 8 is almost exclusively government subsidized where as Affordable Rate requires people working full time jobs with some minimal subsidization.

Well there goes Prairieville.
This reeks of "there are not enough democratic voters in this district. So lets add more."

Sucks, nothing like this really (outside of the trailer parks nearby) in the area.

And they're planning two of these. The other is around Germany road.
The fricked up thing is they put the halt on new subdivisions, but approved this bullshite.
