For those that have one and also have young kids, where do you keep the gun at home?

Inside my waistband, at all times. So don't try no shite.

Actually, it's high atop the armoire, unloaded.

Why did u ask where I kept my gun at home. What does this have to do with concealed carry permit?

Your title had nothing to do with your question.

Would a concealed permit person put one in different places at home than someone with out one?

By default, every member should be trained in the weapons you have and as such leaving them anywhere is not an issue.

What does CC have to do with where your weapon is located in your house?

The wardrome beside my bed is too tall for them to reach so I keep my .9 on top of it. Have a few handguns stashed around the house that will be moved as they grow taller

Weapons in every room. Kids grew up knowing where they were and how to use them if they needed to.

Teach your kids gun safety. The likelihood of them trying to find or discover it or the likelihood of an accident will drop significantly.

No kids at home, so I usually keep one on the mantle and under the bed. (No CCW required for gun in your home in LA)

Even that can be dangerous.

One Halloween, doorbell rings. I open it expecting to hand out candy, and a literally retarded kid about 13 ran past me into the house. The little bastard was running all over the place. I almost killed myself going for the gun before he grabbed it and killed someone.

We don't do trick or treat any more. Blame the retarded kid when you see my porch light off.

How do you teach a 3 year old how to be responsible with a gun?

More of a rhetorical question really.

Seriously, at what age does saying "just teach your kids gun safety" become appropriate?

No kids or wife
I have a.38 snub nose in the night stand. Thinking I should get something with more heat. Thinking about 357.

Top drawer in a chest. That will change as they get older though.

FYI you do not need a CC permit to keep one at home.
