Companies that offer pricing discounts for various things

Out of this group, who should be excluded? Or who is missing from this group?
I ask, because I just read an article stating that discounts should not be offered to the military by companies, which I don't agree with.
Thoughts?

I've never seen a teacher or nurse discount. I think the military/veterans are the only legit ones you listed. The rest are bullshite.

These are jobs. Why should they receive discounts for choosing a profession?

Not saying that they should be excluded but the wage gap between an RN and any of the others is pretty big. Nurses still have an incredibly difficult and important job so I don't mind.

Just curious what was the reasoning they gave to not offer discounts to the military?
I think all of those mentioned are deserving in their own way. I think that if people put their life on the line for others it is a nice gesture to offer a discount to them.
I also think with people whom can have such an impact on people, yet can very little recognition or compensation, I think it is nice to offer something to them as well.
I personally don't expect a thing and I rarely even you the discounts that are offered. I do appreciate the sentiment though.

Where are nurses getting discounts at????
Only place I get a nurse discount at is the place I buy my scrubs from(10% discount if you show your work ID badge).
