From 6-10pm PT, Art Bell: Somewhere in Time returns to 6/3/97 for an Open Lines search for a practicing witch. Who called in was the legendary (and late) Evelyn Paglini who became the show's witchcraft expert for many years.
quote:
In the first half, trance clairvoyant Douglas James Cottrell joins Richard Syrett to discuss how he accesses the Akashic Field and what he gleans from it. Also called the Book of Life, the Field is like a celestial library of all the thoughts and actions of humankind, since the dawn of time; a source of inventions, inspiration, and intuitive insight. Followed by author Peter Janney talking about the murder of Mary Pinchot Meyer in 1964. The CIA rushed to confiscate her diary, as Meyer was said to have put together the conspiratorial plan to assassinate her lover, JFK.
Last nights show was very solid.

JFK Mystery
Not really on topic with this program per set but my dad spoke with David Ferrie at work often enough to get to know the guy a bit.
I post pop's story in the JFK thread each year and actually took the time to write it down. Figured that's how history is recorded, people write things down.

Can you link me to your old mans story?

Copied and pasted
quote:
Pops worked as an electronics technician for the FAA at Lakefront Airport in 1963 when Kennedy was killed. Later in his career, he transferred to Moisant. Lakefront Airport was a very small place in 1963 with many "regulars".
I wouldn't say he knew David Ferrie any more than he knew most of the other people that he would BS with at the coffee shop during breaks. He described Ferrie as odd but smart. His clothes were often disheveled and didn't match and he wore ridiculous costume eyebrows. Aside from his appearance, my dad was always impressed with his ability to carry on an intelligent conversation about anything, no matter the topic.
The New Orleans Civil Air Patrol met regularly at Lakefront Airport. Ferrie captained a squadron of which Oswald was a member. Pops saw them together at the airport during those meetings as did everyone else that worked there. Their association during this time period was no secret at all.
Mom and Dad went shopping the morning Kennedy was shot and were saddened by the news like most people. Dad was on the mid shift that day and arrived at work in the early afternoon.
Kennedy was shot at 12:30 and pronounced dead at 1:00 CST. Oswald was apprehended at 1:50, suspected of shooting a cop and wasn't charged with murdering the president until 11:30 that night.
When my dad got to work, his boss and several other airport administrators were being questioned by men who presented credentials of the Federal Bureau of Investigation who were looking for David Ferrie by name. Satisfied that nobody had seen him that day and that he wasn't holed up on the premises, the men left. This is during the time frame after the killing but before Oswald is charged with anything, in fact he had just been taken into custody.
**information that I got out of my dad since the last thread**
> When he asked his boss what the hell was going on, he was told that he was questioned about David Ferrie's whereabouts. He was told that they believed Ferrie to be piloting a flight to Lakefront from Dallas that afternoon.
> It was commonly known around the Airport that Ferrie was the pilot of choice for Carlos Marcello

That's kind off a cliff hanger I need more information now

No real "ending" and that's what you find with many stories surrounding the events that day. They can be easily dismissed as pointless anecdotes.
Guys who presented themselves as being FBI were looking for David Ferrie by name at Lakefront Airport in NOLA the day that LHO, a known acquaintance of Ferrie's, kills the president in Dallas. This happens during the time period before LHO is even a suspect for said killing.
That's the take away and you can dismiss it just by saying "so what, it doesn't prove anything" and you would be correct in saying so.

How did your dad know it was Oswald Ferries was talking to?

At the time, I don't suppose he knew who he was. I'll ask him next time I see him.
After the fact, it would have been a matter of seeing LHO on the news and saying "Holy shite, that guy was in the CAP at the airport, I remember him."
