Also, this is why I don't ever watch the news or go to their websites anymore. I prefer to be in my own bubble. I can get the news through a second party.

I have a friend who is a cop in Miami and he gets down and dirty in some of seediest areas of the city.
I have zero problem with him blowing off a little non-PC steam to me since he's earned the right.

I'm not saying that is the case here as I don't know any of the details, nor do I know why his personal texts were searched, but if he is indeed exuding over-the-top bias and/or racism, it would be grounds for termination of a police officer IMO.
It isn't like he is the customer service rep for ATT or something. I'd prefer my police officers have as little bias as possible, no?

I made it clear I wasn't referencing this particular case, but I don't mind my police officers being a little more PC even if it is just to squash any concerns of discrimination or bias within a department. You work for the people as a police officer. If there was ever a job where you need to be as fair as possible, that is is.
