It's not meant to be damming. He just meant even though the outcomes are predetermined it's still real violence. Someone still broke his ribs.

The royal rumble story is fascinating. He's obviously concussed, but doesn't want to lose his "spot" by bowing out early. I think Punk overestimated the power of going over (winning) against Taker/Rock. I think most fans know these "one off" matches don't mean anything in the grand scheme. I wonder if he would've been happy headlining WM vs a Sheamas.

I don't think he would have been happy. I think him and Bryan should have wrestled at mania and have a title unification. Instead the titles were united on a Ppv that wasn't rumble, mania, summer slam, or survivor series.

He said he would have been happy in a triple threat with rock and Cena and lose in 5 minutes. He just wanted to headline WM.

He wanted/needed to take significant time off because of injuries. When he finally did so, which he was "owed" (Vince said I owe you one no less than 3 separate times) wwe tried to screw him out of money he was owed. It's easily the dumbest thing I've ever heard and shows just how out of touch Vince really is.
Punk didn't breach a contract, he and all wrestlers employed be wwe, are independent contractors. If he didn't show up for work, they didn't have to pay him for that appearance. The fact they withheld royalties is laughable. I hope he took them to the cleaners.
As for wm29, if everyone else got paid a lot more than him them he has a point. He stole the show while working with a once a year performer at the very end of his career. Never giving punk the main event even though he actually out sold cena in merc while on his big face run was a slap in the face.

Even when you go back to the first time he held the WHC he was getting fricked over - beat Edge with MitB and creative decided to label him as a fluke and take the belt off of him without even defending it. Sure, he had the longest modern day title reign, but headlined less than half of the ppv's during that time - including mania - while part timers and Cena were kept in the main events.

Also, he stated why he went completely silent after leaving - he kinda took the high road and didn't go public because he still was under the contract. Meanwhile Trips/Steph/Creative took plenty of cheap shots at him, including at the Raw in Chicago.

I'm not defending Punk, and I'm not defending the 'E. I've quit watching their product for nearly two months now and have been watching more RoH and TNA which have put on great shows lately. I'd rather send my money to organizations that are actually trying to focus on wrestling and not bringing in goddamned meme characters to focus on.

But holy shite, if this bit about lying to investors and intentionally botching medical treatments is true...Vince could be in some serious trouble.

Listen to a majority of it this morning while getting the turkey and stuff ready. Took a lot of it with a grain of salt because it's one side of it, but it was a fascinating story.

However, those doctors should be fired and medical protocols changed. Laughed pretty hard when he was talking about putting Brock over w/ Vince "Well who's going to be here the monday after Summerslam. There was dead silence, well uh you". Plenty other of those moments in there

I saw it when he posted it but didn't know you had put it as your sig. I had a good Verne Lundquist "HA!" when I saw it.

It is a must listen for every WWE fan. You simply don't get that level of insight from top tier stars in the industry. I give WWE 30-45 mins of my time each week and loved it. That 2 hours was the fastest moving podcast I've listened to. Actually had to stop it multiple times I was laughing so hard.

It is one side, but I'm inclined to believe most of what Punk says. There really is no evidence that points to him lying about any of this.

If WWE FedExd his term papers though on the day of his actual wedding, they messed up bad. It appears to be the one thing that flipped the switch from apathy/annoyance to downright furious. They really are out of touch with reality to mess with someone who oozes natural charisma and storytelling ability. I frankly don't even think their entire creative team is capable of outsmarting Punk in a battle of words.

The biggest bummer to me about the story is how incompetent he views Trips. The Vince he describes sounds dead on. I had given Trips too much credit I believe.

Also, I really hope they chant "dumb as frick" at Ryback in place of "feed me more". I'd be in stitches.

TL:DR - Listen to it. It's more entertaining than 3 months of WWE programming combined.
