Somewhere just north of the old Mississippi River bridge at Baton Rouge lies what's left of the USS Mississippi. The US Navy's first oceangoing steamship, served as Commodore Perry's flagship on his expedition to Japan. On March 14, 1863, she was disabled while trying to pass the forts at Port Hudson. She drifted down the river on fire, blowing up just north of Baton Rouge. George Dewey, later famous as Admiral commanding at the Battle of Manila Bay, was executive officer at the time.

I know that the Confederates put a frick on of mines in the James River below Richmond to protect the city from the union navy coming up there, and there are a lot of them still there (not still live after all this time obviously). I always thought that was pretty interesting.

I'm going to give you two a few moments to heal your rift.
One Landmass
Two Landmass
Three Landmass
Alright, times up.
Better now?
