He was saying put a lower gear in the rear end if it is RWD because you can't just to the rear if its a 4WD truck.

This... I've seen the same as the OP described and the Wheel bearing was the issue...

It could be the differential but I'm leaning toward rear wheel bearing. For your sake I hope I'm right because a wheel bearing is a lot cheaper and easier to fix than a differential.

I'm not a professional but I have done both more than once.

if it is coming from the left side, rather than the center, it could be a wheel bearing. jack up the truck and spin the wheels while listening for noise. lift or wiggle each wheel to see if it will move.
