This is my first Christmas in the burbs and I have no idea who should receive a Christmas tip and how much. Short list is the garbage guy, cleaning person, nanny, lawn guy and usps guy. I know what I am giving the nanny but no clue what to give the other people. Anyone have suggestions?

What, do you tape a 20 to the garbage can?

I don't tip the garbage guy or the USPS person. Other than that I give them one month extra what I would normally pay.

I give a 9mm round instead of money. 9mm is the new bitcoin.

I would but I never know if they’ll actually stop at my house on the scheduled days.

Our mail carrier wrote a personalized Santa letter back to my children. She earned her $50 and a candle.

Only people I would give is Christmas bonus to, and we do 1 extra payment. Maid comes every two weeks, so the first time cleaning in December we pay her double.

We have options in who picks up our garbage in the northeast. The guy left a happy holiday card with his name. It’s the same guy who picks up every time. It sure how much I should give him. His last name is soprano. Not sure if there is any relation.

Companies can give employees bonuses. I don’t need to tip an employee of a company a Christmas bonus.

A good rule of thumb is to give everyone on your property tax bill a tip. A lot of people overlook COA and BREC parks so I like to double those up.

It began as Boxing Day in other countries. Gift giving to service people you don’t directly pay. We give something to the garbage men and postman. My wife already tips the cleaning lady every time she comes.

Cleaning person typically gets one week's pay.
We generally don't tip our lawn people.
Garbage guys get $20 each.

It is actually illegal for the Mail carrier to accept any gift/tip.
