It's always interested me how Russia and the U.S. have long been foes with religious and ethnic commonalities.

We haven't been foes. It was hype created by a propaganda machine in Soviet Russia. Soviet Russia never had the balls or the money to do anything but create misinformation.

Their nuclear ICBMs were a concern.

We love our Russian Christmas don't we folks?

Really though, I've seen Christmas in several regions of the US, and have traveled to a couple of places in Europe near the holidays, but have yet to spend Christmas abroad.

Always wanted to spend a Christmas in London, Bavaria, and Bucharest (spent a couple of Summers there, know some good people there, and would love to see how they decorate).

ETA: I'd also like to observe midnight mass at the Vatican and wouldn't mind seeing how Jerusalem treats the season (but the whole "you might get bombed at the local coffee shop" is somewhat disconcerting).

That does look nice. It at least looks like Christmas. And not 80 degrees and humid. I wish the swimming pools would open for the week.
