I agree with this and think it's a tactic that should be employed more often.

Sadly from what I know about the AZ foster system....there are just wayyyy too many kids needing homes and not enough foster parents. I would think cases like this though take priority in finding a child good foster placement.

Agreed, it would need to be a home with no other children in it(at least in the beginning), that child will need as much attention as they can get from foster parents.

Yep. That is a terrible way to start life and during the attachment years. Someone is going to have a lot on their hands and it takes a special person.

The only "lucky" thing is that she probably won't remember a lot of what happened. That can't be good for her development though.

This makes me feel more that abusive parents should be sterilized...

We fostered my nephew-in-law here in Oregon. My mother-in-laws did everything to help her son (father of the child) to complete the services to get the child back. He went back to jail and the biological mom got out. She ended up beating the kid. The mother-in-law tries to foster and is denied. They circled back to us and we're asking us check with our social network if someone was interested. I asked the social work if I should post it on social media.

The situation is bad in Oregon. I am not sure if it's good anywhere.

It's actually unlucky. The memories are stuck at an implicit level. With explicit memories you can actually process through them and re-wire your brain so to speak.

From 18-30 months you develop your attachment style. This kid will probably develop some time of character disorder. Like LSUnurse said, it would take someone's total devotion to undo it.

Stake both of them out on the courthouse lawn and have people go by there and beat the hell out of them everyday til they die. Keep them alive as long as you can

Why, nurse? I'm starting to hate this site. I know I don't have to click but the titles get me.

I don't think you need to inundate yourself with this stuff but it's good remind yourself sometimes. My wife came across somebody that was involved in cult abuse. There is some fricked up shite out there.

I pray the little girl finds a wonderful home with parents that will love her.

This kind of stuff hurts to read especially if you are a parent.

Not reading. Tired of reading about this stuff. Just kill the abusers, immediately.

Bring further awareness to child abuse and why more foster families are needed here.

If something this fricked up happened to me, I'd remember it. 3 isn't exactly infancy.

Most memories before 5 are implicit. I will say I've met people who have explicit memory since an infant. Like my wife swears she remembers screaming in crib for her parents. I have memories that I believe are from before 5 but they are definitely fragmented and not continuous.

A lot of people that go through this type of trauma dissociate. People can go through this type of thing at 8 come out of it with no memory.

Count yourself lucky if this isn't your defense mechanism. Of course, you may have lived a fairly trauma free life, so you may not know. I had a friend that could flash back to some child hood abuse without a moment's notice. It would suck to know that shite is buried so deep it's only triggered at an unexpected moment.
