A google maps look at the BR traffic led me to some satellite map browsing were I found this sweet set of pavement. Google search showed that it is part of the state police and joint readiness. I'd love to get out there and have a chance to play around. Go kart would be awesome on that in field.

The whole training center looks cool. Offroad sections, roundabouts.

I'm kind of surprised there isn't a large median to learn how to park in and drive across.

I've raced my car out there before. It was Autocross so we didn't get to go on the big track.

I think there has been some kart races out there as well.

Cool deal. I didn't know how private this was. I think I've only seen scca out at Lamar Dixon (but that was years ago).

I went to an SCCA Autocross out there about 5 years ago.
They had the full track open, and we had a good time.
It was great until some dumbass ran off the track, hit a culvert, and rolled his blue 300Z over with the girlfriend inside.

I don't think they allow the public on the road course after that day.

I went out there in grad school while we were working on something for the State Police. Me and a couple co-workers got to "chase" the Camaro in a regular squad car. Pretty fun. Also got to go to the nearby shooting range and unload some rounds and drove the simulator they have on site as well.

I'm pretty sure this is the shooting range, just north of the track: LINK

Yep, Wedge Keyes was running several slick BMW's, there were tons of nicely set up Hondas, and one guy in a highly Turbocharged Trans-Am. The Trans-Am was the funniest - he'd pass everyone in the straights, then poke through the turns at 20 mph.

The busted up cars in the top right are used for defensive firearm training.

it's s pretty incredible facility. Got the pleasure of spending 2 weeks out there at the range last year. We heard explosions, 50 cals and saw a few of the swat vehicles. Also they have a field of untouched crown vics that just sit there which is pretty sad.

They weren't untouched and they didn't belong to LSP. They were used by a private company and they were worn the hell out.

Damn, the dog shooting comments are played out. It's not even slightly amusing anymore.
