German Wirehair. They look the same but will have longer coat and facial furnishings. Temperament is much different from the GSP.

I have seen those at the dog park and have a friend who has one, never heard anyone call them the DD name

Right. The DD is a sub breed of the GWP though, and it is what I'm paying high dollar for. Extremely strict breeding and hunting standards in order to be a true Drahthaar. But yeah, I'll stick with the response that people will actually understand.
