Do you think you've changed the way you think over the years in a fundamental way. I was thinking just now and I think I have changed my processes drastically but I'm not sure. Or it could apply in certain circumstances and not in others. Example, you see a painting you don't like. What's your thought process.

Before I took psychedelics, I wanted to be either a politician, military officer, or investment banker. So yes.

Sure. In my case, the nature of my work caused me to develop an aggressive, goal-oriented mindset in approaching problems. And I had to learn to more efficiently scan vast amounts of information and make snap decisions... while these might just seem like extra skills I learned, the truth is that the weeks / months / years of doing this has bled into other areas of my life and systemically changed the way I approach many things.

Your cited example might be a matter of changing tastes moreso than thought patterns, though the distinction might be a gray area. But I think most people evolve to appreciate different things during different phases of their lives. It's very common for people to hear a song, not like it, then hear it again a few years later and think it's great. The song, of course, did not change; it was the perspective of the listener that did.

Yeah, I considered that. But my full example is this. I see a picture. I don't like it. 5 years ago, I look at the picture and I'll think it's crap for reason A,B, and C, all opinions. Now, I'll look at a picture, and I'll notice the facts and I'll use the facts to express my viewpoint and that won't sway I see it but I'll be less likely to let how I feel about something affect my judgement of something. And yes, I do agree that a majority of the change is work and experience based. I've been told I'm much more assertive. But then, I work with people who still haven't adapted their thought processes to their positions.
