The only thing I don't like about it is how my wife would drag that hose across that house and frick up the base boards.

I do agree with this...probably best to have more outlets and a shorter hose to prevent this kind of thing...

Good to know, sounds like if I can keep my wife from dragging the hose and messing up the house then all I will need to do is make sure I get a good quality vac and have plenty of outlets throughout the house.

I think I'm sold

They make sleeves to put on the hose to prevent that.

What are the advantages ? Still have to have an attachment and a long hose?

Did you put it in the wall?

Yes, we have 5 outlets on our main floor, and 2 in our basement.

Seems like it would be easier just to run the PVC along the baseboard. Plus, if it broke, you could get to it.

From what I have read the advantages are that you just carry a light weight hose room to room, you don't have to worry about an electrical cord, the system is also quiet because the unit is in the garage or basement. No more bending over to use a dust pan in the kitchen as you have a vent in the baseboard that you open and sucks up the trash.

So have PVC running throughout the house along the baseboards visible for everyone to see?

But the hose is much longer so about the same weight as a standard vacuum

No electrical cord but you do have to worry about this big hose thing that you have a limited number of outlets for

We use vacuum on hard floors and I have not seen a dust pan In years

I just don't get the love for one

Just match the color of the baseboards. Plus it's not on every wall.

Only if you want visible PVC all along your baseboard. If you glue it properly and mount it inside the wall, you should not have an issue with the wall components.

I replaced the motor in mine after 20 years with a refurb of the same model. It is worth it....!

But you have to cut all your walls open.

The other advantage is there is no exhaust in your house so the unending debate about filters clogging or how much dust escapes is a non factor. The dirt is carried out of the house and deposited elsewhere. If some escapes the unit, who cares.

If you have a second floor like I will you don't have to carry a vacuum upstairs. Also very conveinent in bathroom for a quick vacuum with a smaller hose.

Might not be for you but I can see it working for me.
