Desperate Journey
The Denver Post ran a series of videos on treating children with childhood epilepsy/seizures using CBD Oil (not a cure, but a treatment). This marijuana strain has a high CBD to THC ratio so there is almost no high associated with this oil. From the article, several hundred desperate parents have abandoned conventional treatments and relocated to Colorado in hopes of finding some relief for their children. Currently there are 427 children under 18 on the state's medical marijuana registry, including 13 children under 2 years old.
The first video is long but has more info. It's also more disturbing. The second video is based on Haleigh's Hope, the medical marijuana bill filed in Georgia.
I'm not going to argue the ethics of using an unregulated drug as part of a medical treatment. I think most of these parents are acting out of desperation and have given up on conventional treatments. It seems unlikely that they would all see dramatic results but evidently some have. I'm also pretty certain I would do the same in their circumstances.

It's pretty amazing. From what I've heard, the only drawback is that over time, their body builds up an immunity to a given strain to the point where it becomes essentially ineffective, and they have to move on to a new one which may or may not be available. So, at the current stage of the research it is sort of a false hope or at least a temporary relief.
But it clearly needs to really be researched in earnest because it's obviously something close to a miracle.
