TIL that I'm lazy because I wanted to take my kids trick-or-treating while still providing candy for the neighborhood kids.

What I have difficulty accepting people doing this, THEN bitching about somebody emptying them out. One cannot simply post a sign and alter people's behavior.

This. I knew we weren't going to be home for handing out candy. We were going to leave behind a bowl full on the porch but I told the GF that it would be better not to because it probably be stolen.
Sure enough. Got home at like 10pm and our neighborhood Facebook page had blown up with people pissed off about their candy (and bowls) stolen. Happened to at least 5 people. And I did not feel bad for them one bit. It is called common sense, especially with the little heathens running around today.
ETA: It is sad to me that I had to consider these things before putting out candy for the good kids in spite of the few bad ones. Speaks volumes about the current generation.

This wasn't some 14 year old kid with impulse control issues. This was a morbidly obese adult. She should be shamed.

I agree to an extent. But its one thing if its a neighborhood teenager doing it. It's quite another when its an adult.

Nailed it. Completely justifies her actions. They certainly should either choose to be with their kids (as an entire family unit) or be friendly neighbors and hand out treats.
