His widow is also one crazy son of a bitch whose word should not be taken at face value. Casey Kasem's daughter and lawyer are claiming the body is missing:

A lawyer for Kasem's daughter Kerri Kasem said Friday that when he went to give a Tacoma, Washington, funeral home a copy of the restraining order, he was informed it no longer had the remains.
"They said they could not disclose where he had gone or where he would end up," said the lawyer, Scott Winship.
Tim Grant, funeral director at Gaffney Funeral Home & Cremation Services, confirmed Friday that Kasem's body was no longer there.

He's not missing. She probably has him propped up in a Lazy Boy in a walk-in freezer somewhere.

Like it or not, a couple spends a lot more time with each other than adult children do with their parents. I don't know how long he has been gravely disabled, but assuming he could speak, he would have made his wishes known. Once he couldn't speak, the kids, likely sensing their inheritance was in jeopardy, swooped in.
That's my take on it - and I do think she (Jean) is crazy) - but I bet there was a lot of craziness between those 2 over the past 34 years. They married when he was 48 and she was 25 - and they stayed together that whole time?
I tend to side with the spouse in cases like this.
