OT lawyers my girlfriend purchased a car Monday after getting the run around at a dealership. The car was found at another dealership and swap was to be done. After filling out all the paper work and purchasing the car we were told it would be a day or two before it was in. They called yesterday and told her that it was sold and they could try to find her something else. My question is legally can anything be done? And question two is what would the OT do? Continue to deal with them or tell them to screw themselves.

Get your money back. Take business elsewhere. Car was probably sold before you 'bought' it.

I bet they will offer you a free oil change on the car you don't own.

So they sold a specific VIN to her and filled out the paperwork for that specific VIN?

Pretty sure your girlfriend isn't giving you the whole story. Classic trap move by dealerships because they know women have zero patience and are gullible.
Now they can get rid of that off colored vehicle they haven't been able to sell for the same price of a premium one.

Did she fill out loan paperwork on this specific VIN as well?

who could for an accurate opinion here, we don't know all the facts.
I'm going to assume that your girlfriend only signed a document pertaining to the money she put down , not a purchase agreement and that the dealer the car was supposed to come from sold it before the dealership selling to your gf could finalize their sale.
In which case, your gf gets her deposit back and no harm no foul, or she simply gives the dealership some time to find a replacement vehicle .
Why is everyone so eager to lawyer up? Hell, it's just a fricking car.

Yep paperwork was completed and signed for loan. Wrote a check to put money down on it.

Agree with the 'just a car' bit. Just go find another one at another dealership. Do you think lawyers are free? What's that fight worth to you?
Pretty sure the salesman got a good laugh at the bimbo's uneducated boyfriend threatening to sue because she didn't get her way. Did you also threaten to kick his arse?
