thought Houston received about 50" of rain annually.

Last time I looked Houston averaged 44" a year.

Unless I'm misunderstanding there is absolutely no way the Houston yearly rainfall record is 30+ inches. Allison dropped like 30 inches of rain in a week or something like that

Must have misunderstood The Weather Channel statistic......maybe that was for May.

Annual is 40 + average
Highest was 70+

My bad

Yeah May would probably make sense. Looking back at that makes me how ridiculous the amount of rain we received during Allison was

Mobile, AL is the rainiest city in America. It seems like it's always raining there on the way to Florida.

The floods I saw in Houston is not uncommon. It seems like when Houston gets a big rain the same area of 45 floods, I-10 etc. Not trying to belittle the event, it was bad, but just brought back alot of memories from Allison. Allison there was flooding in downtown in alot of buildings. Allison there was mass flooding. The sunday flood, the media tried to make it out to be a Katrina event.

Can a Weather Guru tell me when this pattern is going to shift and return to normal? All the idiot local TV Weather guys say is it's going to rain again tomorrow. They don't try to explain what is going on and why and when the pattern will shift. El Niño? Some Low parked over TX and LA? Some jet stream pattern that won't move? The contractors and farmers must be losing they arse.

I'm in the trucking business. In the months of April and May we may have worked a week combined.
