consider poor to be a household that brings in under 30k.

Major respect goes to someone who lives in a shithole but takes the time to keep their domicile as neat and maintained to the best of ones ability.
I'd like to think that, in America, anybody, regardless of income, could achieve a non-trashy status. Maybe that is a unrealistic utopian belief though.

Better question is, can a poster on TD start a thread asking if something is trashy while not being trashy himself? I doubt it very seriously.

My grandfather, who grew up extremely poor, would always tell me as we drove past some shite hole house with junk all over the place, "Boy, there's a difference between being poor and being trashy."
