Can Fuel Injectors Cancel Out Sub-par Gasoline?

I always hear people talk about how poor the quality of gasoline is at certain gas stations (e.g. Wal-Mart, Sam's, RaceTrac) and how it consequently can impact the longevity of your vehicle. However, such gas stations are typically substantially cheaper than the supposedly premium gas stations and are therefore more appealing to most individuals.
Can utilizing fuel injectors every now and then cancel out the effects of such low-quality gasoline?

Do you mean fuel additives?

I'd love to see your drive your car without utilizing them....
Oh, and while a good amine-based fuel additive can help, they are not a replacement quality gas.

All gas (in the US at least) is the same. Assume the same octane.
Fuel additives often do more harm than good.

Where do you think Sams, walmart, racetrack get their gas?
From the sam refineries Valero, Chevron, Shell, Exxon get their gas.

Fuel additives, which I think you're going for, have a few perks, but they are very minimal and don't affect the ethanol content in gas. Differences in gasoline are not that drastic unless you are on the state level, i.e. LA and CA. California uses a lot more ethanol in their gas, E85. Most gas stations get the same make up of gasoline and are required by law to have a certain amount of detergents. Shell and the other big boys claim to have higher amounts of detergents, but their ethanol content is relatively the same.
Additives, when they are useful, only clean fuel lines, injectors, etc. Some boost your octane, minimally.
Fuel stabilizers just keep old gas from separating into gasoline and ethanol, think oil and water separation.

And the difference comes from the detergent additive package each brand specifies before the fuel is shipped to the gas station. Sam's, Walmart, Racetrack will use the federal minimum while Top Tier gasoline like Chevron, Shell, and BP will use well above the federal minimum. It costs more to use more additives but then again it's cheaper than relying on buying fuel cleaners and adding them yourself.

It's all the same gas. Just a matter of what detergent formula gets dumped into the truck before heading to the station.
I've never seen an on/off switch for fuel injectors.
Better quality gasoline will help keep your engine and oil cleaner long term.

All of this.
For the people who have seen one truck stop at 2 different stations, note that the trailers are usually partitioned and different fuels can be loaded in the same trailer.

quote:Yes actually. If you choose not to use them then you can't get to the filling station where they sell the shitty gas. But you have to be careful that when you do use those injectors that you don't stop and fill up with that shitty gas.
