Like sleeping from 6-8, stay up til 1, then wake up at 6?

I know it won't be the exact same, but would the 6-8 sleeping help any?

That's pretty much what I've been doing the last few months.

Tried it with my last job, didn't work. It fricked with my body. I found sleeping 6-7 hrs straight was better.

Problem is you aren't tired when you have to go to sleep because you just took a nap. Then you are more tired the next day so you take a longer nap and you stay up even later at night. Vicious cycle.

Well, I know sleeping 20 minutes out of each hour of the day doesn't work.

Google up polyphasic sleep--there's been lots of studies on this.

I have legit insomnia and from my own experience it's not how many hours you piece together, but consecutive uninterrupted REM sleep. You can't "make up" sleep, it feels good to nap or sleep late but it doesn't make up for only getting 3-5 hrs of REM sleep a night

When I have to go to concrete pours, I usually will take a two-ish hour nap, get up at midnight, then head out to the jobsite. Makes all the difference.

This

You need 1 full cycle to recharge -- approx 3 hours

Real men only sleep 12 - 6 nightly, 2 cycles.

Too much great life to live to waste it all asleep.
