I don't really like how "used to" sounds though. "She previously taught" sounds better.

"she use to teach the class" is never correct.
"she used to teach the class" is correct if the meaning is that she taught the class at some undefined time in the past. There are alternatives that leave the ambiguity in place, such as "she previously taught the class", "at one time she taught the class", etc. But brevity demands "she banged your son last year".
