Boiled peanuts are a delicacy IMO.

I chuckle at people who love edamame but think boiled peanuts are weird.

Compared to the south the average person is very skinny but of course there are overweight people everywhere.

I had no idea boiled peanuts were a southern thing until I moved to Texas. You can't find them here and people have no idea about them. My girlfriend and her family were freaked out by them when I broke some out.
That was the moment I had to explain to them why Texas isn't considered the south.

I would argue that oysters here in South Carolina are not nearly as good as those from the gulf. I can't stand clusters. The only good oyster roasts I have been to here have used oysters from the gulf
