If you think this is annoying, pray that "Bad feminism" doesn't become popular. At least with earlier thinkers associated with the movement, there was interesting, rigorous thinking and writing. Beauvoir, bell hooks, Judith Butler and others were doing work that was at the very least thoughtful.

The newest iterations are full of sloppy thinking, aimed perfectly at meme culture, which insists upon taking complex social issues and reducing them into little cards you can carry around everywhere, brandishing them about anytime someone mentions anything that isn't remotely politically correct. It's a deplorable method of debate, and encourages kneejerk reactions rather than patient analysis.

And I do. I'm just giving a specific example as it relates to feminism.

well okay but it really doesn't work as a criticism of modern mainstream feminism so much as it does just a criticism of society in general.

Feminist seem to have found the solid defense mechanism. If anyone question their talking points they just say that the policy in question doesn't fit real feminism.

They are like Alabama fans saying updykes aren't a common fan.

I see post like this all over the articles comments but no one ever cares to explain it. Why don't you crack an egg of knowledge on me?

Do you honestly believe feminism is just a tarted up form of misandry?

Because that's what a lot of the girls in the OP believe, and they would be wrong.

don't they deny the power of evolution in the development of male and female humans?

this is the wikipedia description of third wave feminism

quote:

Third-wave theory usually incorporates elements of queer theory, anti-racism and women-of-color consciousness; womanism, girl power, post-colonial theory, postmodernism, transnationalism, cyberfeminism, ecofeminism, individualist feminism, new feminist theory, transgender politics, and a rejection of the gender binary.

i mean, how would ANYBODY be confused as to the basic tenants of that philosophy? it's so simple and easy to digest

i'm not going to sit here and type up for you a treatise on the history of feminism (or any other philosophical discipline) just because you're too lazy to educate yourself about it.

I just use that name because I didn't have another word that represents their rather large population of trashy fans.
