You fricking moron!

Removing Saddam was the worst possible mistake we could have made and we did it! Saddam was an a-hole dictator that we could control because he's secular enough for our liking and he could keep the bat shite crazy jihadists like Isis and isil from running around and fricking shite up. He ensured stability across the Mideast by being a tyrannical dictator and thats the only way we'll get out of Iraq and the Mideast. Iraq needs a strong a-hole tyrannical dictator. Invading iraq only created more terrorists. Idiot.

It just shows how big of a blowhard ignorant a-hole the average American is.

The idea that one of the most radical countries in the most radical region could sustain a democracy to stabilize the region was sold to the American public - and the public thought it was just great. Iraq is about to be a permanent military anchor for the United States and other western business interests.

Where did it go wrong?

Well we at least should have kept the Baath Party in some sort of working order.

Anyway, I know Obama isn't the most popular guy in this board but the quote he had tonight that was something like "If you threaten America.. there will be no safe haven."

Kind of relates to the Bush line.

Removing Saddam Hussein wasn't a bad thing. Chaos in the middle east has been happening since the beginning of time and will continue until we all are well dead and gone. They all hate each other and as long as it is kept this way they are limited threats to the West. ISIS is a thug group that can only try to blackmail by beheading. Beyond their shock value they are relatively amateur.

Anyone can plan and occasionally execute a terrorist attack, however that recourse is limited and of course Americans are much more aware these days. Beyond that the middle east is nothing more than sand. And America can dictate policy by sheer size and by that same logic can be a bit clumsy about it and still make whatever it wants to happen happen.

Within the next few years, and even now the middle east is and will become a sideshow to Russian advancement to the West. That will take Americas attention away because it's now or never for Russia. Demographics, aging and shrinking population dictates they have a short window. One of which they will probe but will not succeed. They are isolated and with the exception of natural gas have limited economic advantages. In other words they will run out of money.

Poland will be the next big player in Eastern Europe in the next 20 years. Middle east will be out of mind.

Unintentional it may be or not, It's the greatest con job ever pulled on the American people and we're paying dearly for it now.

Do you two really think the American public believed Iraq could be turned into Canada? If you believe that than YOU were sold. No one in my wide net of family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances, douchebags I don't like ever believed that.

It was never to stabilize a region that has never been stabilized in the history of man. It was to destabilize it for the simple reason to knock down a power before it could dictate the region.

I don't need a 9/11 refresher every year and I certainly don't care if Bush shot that from the hip. Considering the scale of the event, the idea that they wouldn't have something brief prepared for him heading into that scenario seems silly, but what do I know?

I'll always remember Pres.Bush linking Iraq,Iran & N.Korea together as the "Axis of Evil". That was always a head scratcher for me.

Nevertheless, a lot of laws were passed off as "this is for the safety of the American people". Which looking back on it they shouldn't have been.
