Pair of aggressive dogs tear through a car to get to a cat inside
quote:
Christie Barr was asleep when it happened around 3 a.m. over the weekend. She woke up to the extensive damage in the morning.
“I thought someone maybe took a BB gun and shot my car,” she told Action News Jax’s Robert Grant.
She called the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and police went through the security camera video and discovered it wasn’t a person, but dogs responsible for the damage.
The video shows the neighbor’s car jumping behind the engine shortly before the dogs go after her.
Barr said they never got to the cat and it survived. “There’s no doubt in my mind had they gotten that cat, she wouldn’t be here today.”
The insurance company towed her car and estimated up to $3,000 in damage from the dogs. Now neighbors don’t know where the dogs are and are concerned for the neighbors’ safety. Barr said she reached out to animal control, but no one has responded so far.
“If they can do that to metal on a car, they could tear a human being up,” Barr said. “You need to take care of them. Don’t let them be out running the streets during the middle of the night.”

The only thing worse than this breed of dog are their owners. Complete trash.

I was talking to a guy a while back who had some pitbulls tear his truck up. He'd parked on the road to hunt some public land. There were some trailers up the road with a bunch of dogs. He said he was about 200 yards from his truck and could hear dogs fighting and figured they were killing each other. He got back to his truck and the bumper had been pulled off and mauled. He figured a cat had gotten in it.

I have so sympathy or positive emotions for these dogs, and make sure to tell the owners the same when I am confronted with them.
The dogs should be put down.
The dogs should be put down.

Jesus Christ. Hate to be this guy, but luckily it was just a car. Some 13 year old sneaking out would have been mince meat.

Dogs and owners should be euthanized

And every damn time we see that breed-group attack, their tails are wagging with delight, as if they were the happiest they'd ever been.

Grammar nazi, I think you missed this typo:
It should say “cat” not “car.”
I swear, journalism is dead.

When I was a kid I had an uncle that bred and trained pitts for hog hunting. He always said it's not a matter of if they will attack but when. He did not suggest people having them as cute pets.
Was it a bit of an overstatement? Sure, and he knew it. He was trying to drive home the point that these dogs were bred for aggression and strength. There is a trigger inside of them that will set off their frenzy, and people never really know with each dog what that trigger is. That's why children are often attacked, because they do something that sets off that trigger.
Yes they are often sweet, and no not all of them are aggressive. Each and every one of them, however, has that aggression inside of them, because it was intentionally bred into them. Only the strongest of owners should have them, and unfortunately that's not happening. They are a fashion symbol in a certain type of community, and unfortunately we continue to have these attacks.

To me, owning a pit bull and owning a gun seems like the same level of chaos. It’s weird to see all these pro gun people be anti pits

Agreed, but we know why a lot of these people have a problem with them...
