Sheriff Bryan Bailey said it appears that Deaton went into a fit of rage after learning that his girlfriend, Heather Robinson, was going to end their relationship. Investigators believe he killed her late Wednesday night and followed her death with other senseless killings. It is believed that he went to Neshoba County on Thursday, where he was once a resident, and killed 69-year-old Brenda Pinter. Bailey then says Deaton went back to Rankin County and shot a random jogger on Friday morning

Deaton was arrested Wednesday morning by troopers in Kansas after a high speed chase. Police say he may have suffered a spinal injury from the crash that followed the chase.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers said at 7:50 a.m. they tried to stop a black Cadillac that was driving eastbound on I-70 around milepost 191. Deaton, the driver, did not stop and drove eastbound at speeds of 140 mph.

How did he go from Philadelphia to Albuquerque to Wichita that fast? Should have taken more than 24 hours. Unless he was doing over 100 which is a good way to attract po-po's attention.

Good statement from his mother, a medical doctor. Doesn't sound he came from a trashy family.

"We are devastated and completely heartbroken for all that has happened. Our family isin a state of disbelief. We don’t understand why or how this could ever happen and are just thankful it has now come to an end. Although we know that nothing can change the events that have happened, we pray for the victims, their families and communities to find peace and comfort in the coming days. We have and will continue to assist law enforcement during this process."
