Recipe from 1990
Jungle Juice - couple of handles of vodka, 5 gallons of fruit punch, sliced up fruit. Throw it all in a large ice chest.

Borgs typically contain a fifth of alcohol, which equates to roughly 16 drinks.

I mean it would contain 128oz of fluid at 10.39% alcohol...

Partygoers have swapped the red Solo cup and jungle juice for the gallon, in part because it allows people to make their drink for the night themselves.

Regardless of these comments

The transition away from beer for college kids is quite fascinating to see, am I alone in this?

Shotgunning beers
Keg stands
Beer bongs

Etc

When I was in college we would buy 30 packs of keystone. Keg parties. Fill the washing machine with beer cans and ice. Etc.

Yes there were non beer choices but they seemed so fringe. Mike’s hard lemonade. Smirnoff ice. Etc.

The thought of walking around with a 6 pack of something other than beer was not even a thought.

Now on most college campuses I bet the split would be nearly 50% non-beer and 50% beer. When merely 15 years ago it was probably 99% beer 1% non beer.

But storm chasers can't livestream or post content there because of "dangerous acts".

I was likely in college around the same time as you, maybe a few years before, and we certainly drank beer, but we also drank copious amounts of (cheap) liquor too. We did shite like this back in the day, it just didn't have a name.

This is what happens when you don't have public service programs like $1 calls on Wednesday night at Murphys. or Pay One Price night at the Colonel's Retreat on Thursdays.

Gen z is a bunch of posers. Borden already makes the perfect mixer for vodka and it comes in gallon jugs and it’s called drank and there’s like 10 different flavors. But no, you kids refuse to support local business and gotta use Joe rogans liquid iv instead

At first I thought this was about me.

Anyway this hardly seems new except I dont think people just walked around with gallon jugs. I used to get my own gallon of 190 daquiri for parties but thats the only thing I had in a gallon like that.

Weak! I used to buy a gallon of Tampico (knockoff Mexican Sunnie D) and put a fifth of Taaka in it. That was good for day drinking around the pool. Could handle it by myself easily as long as I had some ice to mix with it. This was 20 years ago, Millennials didn't come up with this trend. We would do multiple of these jugs on a given Saturday. Easy daydrinking buzz for less than $12 in college. I'd need 20 Tylenol if I tried that now.
