Who grew up watching this with Great-Grandma regardless if you wanted to or not???… Ben Cartwright obviously should have been in prison … the man was thrice-widowed….

Random as hell I know…

It came on in the afternoons where I grew up, so the grandparents were still busy.

What we had to watch with them was Hee-Haw, every Saturday evening at 6pm.

Bonanza was a damn good show…always some hidden lesson to be learned. I believe the poster Jenx used to like Bonanza.

I watched it with my dad. We'd wait for Hop-Sing to quit every episode

Early Bonanza > Later Bonanza

They were some tough fighters in the early years, defending the Ponderosa. In later years, they were peaceniks, and then Lil Joe moved to the Little House on the Prairie and became a Quaker.

I still watch it every chance I get.

My brother and I still drop random Bonanza quotes all the time.

This morning he answered the phone with "it was you who stole them three pintos"

Hell you have to throw Hoss and Little Joe in prison as well. Every other episode one of them would have a girlfriend or fiancé killed in some weird circumstance.

Poor Adam couldn't pick up a book without somebody kidnapping or shooting him.

the early seasons were a lot more serious. Later on they tried to be funny and it wasn't as good. Same with Gunsmoke.

The whole family was a death wish to any woman who crossed their path.

I bet Little Joe had four different women die who he was dating. He finally got married near the end of the show and guess what? She was beaten to death.
