I was pulling up to the dock in Lake Verret after fishing today. This poor guy took 30min to back his trailer up to pick his boat up. Too much to the right…too much to the left…jackknife…pull back up…repeat. Me and another old boy were shaking our heads laughing. You would think if you own a boat you should be able to back up like a pro. I’m glad I had 2 beers left in the ice chest. WTF

You know how many boats were sold last year? No way all those people know what they are doing.

If I was out of beer I would have. Every man for himself in the swamp.

This is why you own a boat lift. 2 minutes and it is in the water.

Where I'm from, people got each other's backs on the water.

I will back someone’s trailer down but I will not load the boat for you.

The last time I loaded someone’s boat for them I guess I hit his bow roller a little harder than he liked and the guy screamed at me. Never again. Load your own boat

Advice- on your next boat ramp troll topic, make it about kayakers at the ramp and you'll get more of what you were probably looking for in this one.

If you haven’t had a boating fail you haven’t boated long enough. But yeah lot of new boat owners out there these days, it takes practice to get good.

You have to understand in Louisiana if you were not backing the truck up correctly at the ramp by age 12, daddy was going to whoop your arse in front of the whole boat ramp.

When I got my boat I took it to a empty parking lot and practiced.

I was 14 when I backed my first boat.
As a kicker it was with dad’s manual F150.
And my buddy from school was with us.

Lots of yelling.
