Blue Lives Matter sign leads to damage to truck

I was at work today and saw a truck back into one of our parking spaces. The truck had visible body damage and the windshield looked as if it had been bashed with a bat. This truck had taken a beating.
The driver stayed in the truck with the motor running and set their for over 15 minutes. This made a couple of our hotel guests nervous and they asked for me to call the police.
A patrol car arrived about 10 minutes later and the gentleman got out of the truck to speak with the officer. They talked for about ten minutes while the officer searched his vehicle. It was not a very intense search.
The gentleman checked out and he did not pose a threat. The reason his truck was in such bad shape is he had a "Blue Lives Matter" sign on the back of his truck. Last week he stopped at a place of business in Farmerville. While in the business, someone or more than likely a group of someones ripped the sign off his truck and began to bash in the sides and hood of the truck and smashed side windows and the windshield with kicks, bats, and no telling what else.
The thugs that did this may have lucked out. This man does conceal carry and no telling what would have happened had he come out and witnessed what they were doing to his truck.

Would have been real funny if the cop "found" something while searching the vehicle.

Not that I wish he wouldn't have, but that wouldn't help the situation. He'd be facing a public trial for shooting a bunch of dindu's.
Can't shoot someone for beating on your truck unless you're in it

multiple hotel guests asked you to call the cops over a smashed windshield on a parked car in the lot?

The man was not a guest at the hotel. I think the thoughts of the shooting yesterday were on their mind. His actions coupled with the way his truck looked made him suspicious. They thought he may be have been running from the police and was attempting to hide.
I thought it was overkill but as the guest suggested, better safe than sorry.

Yeah... Because we pay taxes, have jobs, and are tired of these idiots claimingpretending it's 50 years ago in Selma.

Thats just what I would say to the cops if I didn't want them to find the body in the back.

He was waiting for some coworkers to come down. He lived locally and was picking them up. Pretty nice guy. He understood why the police was called.

In the state of Texas you can shoot someone for vandalism, along with other offenses, at night. So no criminal but civil trial is always a possibility.
