My wife had it happen on two different babies. It's not uncommon.
I agree it's not a fun situation to go through but she is most likely perfectly fine

She was actually pretty good with the cravings, I had to hand it to her. Lot of ice cream and milk. It was all good though. Everything worked out great in the end.

Happened two out of three pregs with my wife. A good bit more than spotting though. All of are children turned out fine. Don't go to the ER. Instead go to specialty if your city has one.
