Last fall we decided to add a night to our vacation, pulled up to the hotel and went in and asked for their very best rate on a certain room, (2br/suite). Wife was outside using expedia or travelocity on her phone, she was showing the room as available on her mobile app.
Their best rate was almost $40 more than the app. I declined, texted her to book it and in just a minute stepped back up to the counter and gave my name for a reservation. They had it. Poor kid's mind was blown at the price difference.
