I read $800-$1100 total at first but def look into midtown. You'll be able to find a pretty nice place for that amount.

Where will yall be working? Midtown is obviously great for Downtown but it has proximity to some rougher areas and parking may be an issue. The Heights are great, and so is the Upper Kirby area near River Oaks. Driving in the loop is not as bad as the commute from the suburbs but it can be a pain in the arse, so would lean on how close you are to work on the spectrum between the Galleria and Downtown.
